Norfolk Honey - Honeybees for sale
HONEYBEES FOR SALE 2012
Honeybees for sale 2012. Beginners 'early starter' offer.
Beginners special starter offer - two hives + bees and a queen rearing course.
This offer is a special early starter offer for the committed beginner and will be ready to pick up before the end of April.
The hives are top quality cedar hives - see - and all the boxes will be complete with made up frames.
One hive will have a strong colony of bees installed in it with a marked 2011
laying queen.
These are the first bees that I will be supplying in 2012 and because you are
picking them up early in the year there will be time to split the hive and breed
another queen to populate your second hive before 2012 beekeeping season is over. And
of course your two colonies of bees bees will make you some honey too before
the winter arrives.
My queen breading course will give you precise step by step instructions to guide
you through the critical weeks of May and June. My hive splitting method is designed
to be the surest way of breeding a new queen
whilst keeping your existing queen safe.
Total cost £1,100
You can put a deposit down in advance to be sure that your bees have been allocated to you.

Budget tight?
As a beginner and starting from scratch you could start with Polystyrene hives
from the outset. Poystyrene hives are a cheaper option than traditional cedar
hives and some beekeepers who use them would say a better option too. They
are available
in
several sizes including British Standard National. The frames inside are the
same size and
I will make those up for you to start with.
Above National poly hive with two supers on. Below a National poly feeder.
I will supply you with two hives each with two supers. The brood boxes and supers
will be complete with made up frames. One hive will have a nuc of bees
in it
with a marked 2011 bred queen. I will also supply you with two feeders, two queen
excluders and crown boards.
To
complete the package will be my beginners queen rearing course in your own secure
folder within this site. That
will take
you
step by step
through my artificial swarming process. It's a modified version of my queen
rearing
course
that is
designed
to
protect
your
queen from your 'beginners bee keeping mistakes' enabling you to keep
your existing
queen safe whilest breeding a new queen.
Part
of
the
course
includes
telephone
calls that provides you with advice on all of your beekeeping questions. I essentially
talk you through your first season.
By the time the winter arrives (2012) you should have two hives with bees
in. That is two strong colonies of bees that are fed and treated ready for
the winter. And four supers of drawn out
comb in
store ready to re-use
next year. Plus of course a couple of pots of honey left in the cupboard to
inspire you for the 2013 season - when your honey production starts in earnest!
Be prepared to buy more supers in 2013.
