Everything you need to get started in beekeeping - the hive, the bees, the suit, smoker, hive tool and a feeder bucket all ready for collection from Norwich in one go.
Pick up the box, put in the boot of your car, drive home, put your brood box on a hive stand facing south (see my do it yourself budget hive stand suggestion), leave the bees to settle down for one hour then open the entrance and watch your bees fly.
I supply a feeder bucket for you to feed you new bees with in the first few weeks. That will help them draw out the new frames and give them a flying start in their new home. I also supply the Apiguard anti mite treatment that is easy to apply in August.
There is no need to transfer your bees from one box to another. Indeed there is no need to take them out of the brood box at all - possibly for years to come.
Later in the year put on your supers and let your bees make honey!
My offer for new beekeepers is a budget cedar Standard National brood box with the bees inside. The bees will have a new marked laying queen. The brood box will be fixed to an open mesh traveling floor. The crown board (with a central feeder hole) will also be fixed down in order you can put it all in the boot of you car. The bees will travel for some time and distance in this way as they have plenty of room inside the box and a consistent airflow through the open mesh floor. To make up the complete kit you can also have two supers with made up frames, a queen excluder and a roof. This makes one complete hive
