Norfolk Honey - Beginners offer - the complete kit including bees
Beginners offer - the complete kit including bees for just over £500
Everything you need to get started in beekeeping - the hive,
the bees, the suit, smoker, hive tool and a feeder bucket all ready for collection
from Norwich in one go.
Pick up the box, put in the boot of your car, drive home, put your brood
box on a hive stand facing south (see) ,
leave for one hour, open the entrance and watch your bees fly, put on a bucket
of feed and (in August) Apiguard anti mite treatment (supplied).
There
is no need to transfere your bees from one box to another. Indeed there is
no need to take them out of the brood box at all - possibly for years to
come.
Next year put on your supers and let your bees make honey!
My 2010 offer for new beekeepers is a (cedar) Standard National brood box with the bees inside. The bees will have a new laying 2010 queen. The brood box will be fixed to an open mesh floor. The crown board (with a central feeder hole) will also be tacked down in order that once the entrance is taped up you can put it all in the boot of you car. The bees will travel for some time and distance in this way.
Along with the brood box will be two supers with made up frames, a queen excluder and a roof.
